Juneteenth is an American holiday commemorating the historical moment when news of emancipation was first proclaimed to enslaved Texans by the Union Army. In this very special installment of our Know Your Black History series, we are passing the mic to historian Tonya Hopkins and a panel of Texan chefs to share reflections, joys, and recipes in celebration of this important anniversary.

The evening will feature a cooking demo by Joi Chevalier, and the recipe will be shared with attendees after the event.
